In order to obtain a fishing licence from the state of Saxony-Anhalt, a fishing examination must be passed. There are three different examinations:

The fishing examination entitles the holder to obtain a fishing licence. This can be taken from the age of 13. Before taking the fishing examination, each candidate must take part in a preparatory course for the fishing examination (compulsory course) comprising at least 30 hours of instruction. You will receive a course overview on this website within the registration period. The fishing examination consists of a written and an oral examination.
2. peaceful fishing test
The non-predatory fish fishing exam entitles you to obtain a non-predatory fish fishing licence. This can be issued from the age of 14 and only entitles you to fish for non-predatory fish. The non-predatory fish fishing exam consists of an oral exam. Persons who have reached the age of 13 can take the non-predatory fish fishing exam.
