Complaints procedure
If you have reported a barrier to us and we have not provided you with a response that you consider satisfactory within one month, you can lodge a complaint with the Ombudsman’s Office of the State of Saxony-Anhalt. The Ombudsman’s Office will attempt to reach a resolution. The aim is to work together to remove existing barriers.
Progress on implementing accessibility
The accessibility requirements for the Salzlandkreis website are based on:
- Section 16a(1), first sentence, and (2) of the Saxony-Anhalt Act on Equality for Persons with Disabilities
- Section 11 of the Saxony-Anhalt Ordinance on Equal Opportunities for People with Disabilities.
Verification of compliance with the requirements is based on a self-assessment carried out by the Salzlandkreis.
This website is partially compliant with the aforementioned requirements due to the following exceptions. The exceptions are listed below.
Non-accessible content
Unfortunately, not all elements of our website can be made fully accessible. We view accessibility as an ongoing process and will continue to adapt our website in the future.
Alternative texts for graphics
At present, the majority of the photos on this website already have alternative text. This has not yet been fully implemented for illustrations, diagrams and graphics, but will be added gradually.
PDF files
The documents available on the Salzlandkreis website are generally not accessible. The aim is to integrate the provision of accessible PDF documents into the workflow.
Easy language
Currently, there is only a limited amount of content described in simple language. The district administration is working on expanding the range of content available.
Our website offers the following features
Text size
You can enlarge the text using the CTRL and + keys (on the far right of the number field). The image adjusts automatically. Use CTRL and - to make the text smaller again.
Have it read aloud
You can use screen readers to have the content of our website read aloud to you. The pages are structured so that you can find the most important information at the top. Most images and graphics include alternative text. Documents are uploaded as PDFs rather than images.
Navigate without a mouse
You can use our menu not only with the mouse, but also with the Tab key. Each click of the Tab key takes you one step further in the navigation. When you reach the page you want to call up, press Enter. To scroll, please use the arrow keys.
Breadcrumb navigation
In addition to the menu, you can also orientate yourself on each page using the so-called "breadcrumbs". You will find this navigation under the large image. There you can jump back to other, higher-level pages.
Links
Internal and external links are identified both by colour and with a marker (external). Additional information is provided by the so-called title attribute, which is displayed in graphical browsers as soon as the mouse points to the link. Users of assistive programmes may have to activate additional functions in order to obtain this information.
