The Fire Service Technical Centre is based in the town of Staßfurt, at 44 Hecklinger Straße. The land and the building are owned by the Salzland district. The centre is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all fire service equipment used by the municipal fire brigades and the district. Training for the fire brigades and civil protection units is also to be carried out here. This requires a suitable site with appropriate buildings and a very comprehensive range of technical equipment.
Consequently, all buildings must be upgraded to be energy-efficient and climate-neutral. Training rooms, exercise areas, sanitary facilities and the kitchen in the training building are to be refurbished in order to maintain a sustainable training centre for all civil protection personnel and to ensure that the fire service operations centre can carry out its duties.
