Public transport (responsible body)
The public transport authorities are responsible for the organisation of local public transport. The public transport authorities are necessary because mobility in public transport does not organise itself according to the laws of the market economy (supply and demand) and cannot be offered by the transport companies to cover costs. However, ensuring mobility is part of the district's provision of services of general interest for the people who live here. The Salzland district is responsible for the provision of services of general interest in local public road transport.
