Counselling and support for underage children (Section 18 (1) SGB VIII)
The Youth and Family Service offers free counselling and support to mothers and fathers:
- in the establishment of paternity
- in the settlement of maintenance claims
Please bring along to the counselling interview:
- Birth certificate of the child
- Existing documents (e.g. acknowledgement of paternity)
- Maintenance order
- from the age of 16, proof of schooling or vocational training
Dependants whose children are not represented by the Youth and Family Department are only entitled to general legal information on maintenance obligations.
