Description: As part of the school construction programme of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the entire bitumen insulation roof and skylights, including the necessary smoke and heat extraction systems, of the gymnasium in Aschersleben were renovated and upgraded.

Funding measure: Renovation of Burgschule secondary school in Aschersleben

Description: As part of the Saxony-Anhalt state school construction programme, the stairwells and entrance areas were renovated. In addition, fire safety and security deficiencies in the building (KG) were remedied as planned. Sports facilities and a small sports field were built in the outdoor area. The project was funded by federal funds.

Funding measure: Renovation of the Otto Dorn special school in Bernburg

Description: As part of the subsidy programme, the green roofs were renovated, windows and insulation in the old building were replaced, and escape and emergency route lighting (safety lighting) was installed. In addition, the gym was repainted and the sports floor was refurbished. The subsidy was provided by the federal government.

Financing:

• Grant (90 per cent), maximum approx. 423,900 euros
• Own funds approx. 47,100 euros
• Total expenditure approx. 471,000 euros

Funding measure: Outdoor facilities at Friedrich Schiller Grammar School in Calbe

Description: As part of the Saxony-Anhalt state school construction programme, the area of approximately 1,650 m² that became available following the demolition of a building was converted into a school playground and sports field. The project was funded by the federal government.

The following measures were implemented:

• Removal of the topsoil
• Installation of a load-bearing filling floor
• Creating pipework and drainage trenches
• Construction of a small playing field with a synthetic surface measuring approx. 15 x 28 m including lines
• New schoolyard area with concrete slabs / concrete paving
• Enclosure
