Digital Pact for Schools

To create or optimise efficient digital infrastructures in schools that support learning, to further develop their educational and teaching remit in light of the demands of the digital world, and to provide teacher training tailored to their needs, the Federal Government is making available 5 billion euros in financial assistance to all federal states over the period 2019–2024.

The basis for the DigitalPakt Schule funding programme is the ‘DigitalPakt Schule 2019–2024 Administrative Agreement’ concluded between the Federal Government and the federal states. A total of 137,582,000 euros is available to the state of Saxony-Anhalt, with support from the federal government, to improve the digital education infrastructure in schools. In accordance with the guidelines on the allocation of grants from the DigitalPakt Schule (DigitalPakt guidelines), the district of Salzlandkreis will receive a total of 5,026,377 euros. The Salzlandkreis district will provide any further funds required from its own resources.

The following investment projects in school buildings and on school grounds, including planning, procurement, construction and commissioning, can be carried out with the support of this funding scheme:

• Installation or upgrading of digital networking/cabling, as well as associated cabling work within the school building and/or on the school grounds
• Costs for school Wi-Fi
• Establishment and further development of digital teaching and learning infrastructures (e.g. learning platforms, educational communication and collaboration platforms, portals)
• Display and interactive devices (e.g. interactive whiteboards) for use in the school
• digital tools, particularly for science and technology education or vocational training
• School-issued mobile devices (laptops, notebooks and tablets).
