Apply for exemption from childcare costs

If your child attends a nursery or is looked after by a childminder, the amount you pay for childcare depends on your income.

You only need to pay as much in contributions as you can afford, based on your income and personal circumstances – without jeopardising your livelihood.

If you are on a low income or your income has fallen significantly, you can apply for an exemption from the costs.

You can also apply for an exemption if you receive any of the following benefits:

• Basic income support,
• Social assistance,
• Benefits for asylum seekers,
• Child supplement,
• Housing allowance.
