Applying for authorisation as a childcare centre
Service description
If you wish to run a facility where children are looked after for the whole day or for part of the day, you will need an operating licence before you can start trading.
The licensing process involves assessing whether the welfare of the children in the facility is safeguarded. To this end, the staffing, premises, professional and organisational requirements must, in particular, be met. These include, amongst other things, suitable care staff, a sound educational approach, suitable premises, and measures to protect, support and provide healthcare for the children in care.
