The Social Services department provides advice on and processes the following main services:
Integration assistance for people with disabilities
is for people who are significantly restricted in their ability to participate in society due to a disability or who are at risk of this. The benefit is intended to enable these people to plan and lead their lives as independently and autonomously as possible.
Care assistance benefits are provided for people in need of care who are unable to independently compensate for or cope with their physical, cognitive or mental impairments or health-related burdens or requirements
Assistance with living expenses is provided if there are no entitlements from other social benefit providers or if their benefits are not sufficient to cover living expenses
for persons who have not yet reached the age limit according to § 41 paragraph 2 SGB XII (65 and x months) and are temporarily incapacitated for work, provided they do not live together with persons capable of work;
for persons up to the age of 15 if they do not live together with persons in need of assistance who are capable of work;
for persons aged 16 to 18 if they are unable to work themselves and do not live with people in need of assistance who are capable of working;
for persons who have reached the age of 63 and are drawing an old-age pension.
Basic income support in old age and in the event of reduced earning capacity is paid if there are no entitlements from other social benefit providers or if their benefits are not sufficient to cover living expenses
for persons over the age of 18 if they are permanently fully disabled;
for persons who have reached the age limit according to § 41 paragraph 2 SGB XII (65 and x months).
Health assistance is provided for people who do not have health insurance
