Aschersleben. 15 ‘Seepferdchen’ badges, seven ‘Seeräuber’ badges, plus four bronze, seven silver and one gold: 34 children and young people have demonstrably improved their swimming skills at the ‘Seepferdchen Sunday’ event at the outdoor pool in Aschersleben, thanks to an initiative by the Salzlandkreis and Salzlandsparkasse in collaboration with the ASB.

“The figures show that there is a demand despite the existing provision. We are making swimming safer. Children gain greater confidence in their abilities, and parents also have greater confidence in their children’s swimming abilities,” explained District Administrator Markus Bauer. He was present in person at the event in Aschersleben.
The ‘Seahorse Sunday’ event was organised by the ASB at the outdoor swimming pool. In doing so, the ASB had responded to the call from the Salzlandkreis district and the Salzlandsparkasse. Taking part was completely spontaneous and free of charge. The volunteers conducted a total of 42 tests. In doing so, everyone played their part in reducing the risk of life-threatening situations.
Cindy Elle from the ASB says: “Everyone benefits equally from these initiatives: the children, who can take their swimming tests with us, and the ASB, because it also helps us to promote ourselves. That’s important, as we’re always looking for support.”
District Administrator Markus Bauer once again expressly praised the volunteers’ commitment in this regard. “People want to help others selflessly, particularly through initiatives such as Seahorse Sunday – that is what makes our society so valuable. Thank you very, very much for that. It’s always wonderful to see what we can achieve together.”
