Bernburg. The district administration building in Bernburg-Roschwitz, at 41 Thomas-Müntzer-Straße, is generally open to visitors for administrative matters during office hours – but on Wednesday 19 August, there will be a special programme and hands-on activities for anyone interested, both children and adults.
Staff from the Salzlandkreis’s specialist health services, veterinary affairs and consumer health protection departments, who work at the site, are hosting an open day. From 9 am to 5 pm, they will be offering an insight into their work and, together with other organisations – ranging from the KVHS, the Jobcentre and the police to the ambulance service, health insurance providers and the water supplier – will be sharing a wealth of useful information on the topics of health, maintaining good health and prevention, for both people and animals.
“Health is an issue that affects absolutely everyone,” emphasises Babette Senst, Head of Specialist Services, during the announcement and presentation of the programme day at the centre. “We are therefore looking forward to welcoming many interested visitors who would like to chat with us or find out more about the work carried out by both departments.” A number of nursery groups and school classes have already confirmed their attendance, and other groups from different organisations are also welcome to register. Otherwise, anyone is of course welcome to drop by on the day to get an idea of the work and services offered by the two specialist departments, as well as the administrative processes.
The remit of these two specialist services is extremely wide-ranging, extending from child and adolescent health, dental and social-psychiatric services to hygiene monitoring, infection control, the public health service and the care authority; or from food safety and consumer protection to meat hygiene, animal disease control, animal health and animal welfare. The programme will include short talks, individual testing and demonstration stations, and laboratory tours. A wide range of information material will be available to take away. Light refreshments will also be provided.
All health and counselling services are free of charge. The organisers would like to point out that food and drink are available at cost price. Please also bear in mind that parking is limited in the courtyard of the district administration building at 41 Thomas-Müntzer-Straße, and that no medical treatments, such as vaccinations and the like, will be carried out on this open day.
