Pömmelte. The Aschersleben and Salzlandkreis Astronomy Society aims to show interested members of the public what an unobstructed view of the night sky above the Ring Sanctuary reveals. The popular joint series ‘Under the Stars’ continues on 14 August. On that day, the Perseids will be the focus of the observations.
The Aschersleben Astronomy Society provides telescopes and other observational equipment to help you get a closer look at the sky and its celestial bodies. Of course, you’re also welcome to bring your own binoculars. Beforehand, members of the society will give a theoretical introduction at the TIZ Visitor Information Centre to the current astronomical highlights and constellations of the northern hemisphere. Anyone who wishes to take part in the outdoor session planned afterwards, which will include expert explanations, is welcome to bring a seat or a blanket and, dressed warmly enough, lose themselves in the fascination of the night sky.
Please note: The event will take place whatever the weather. The participation fee is to be paid on the day of the event at the venue. Please register by email or telephone:
Another event is scheduled for 26 September (relating to the Nebra Sky Disc).
