Salzland Museum Schönebeck

Salzland district
The Salzland Museum is located in the centre of Schönebeck-Bad Salzelmen on the market square. The old, former town hall of Groß Salze has housed the collection since 1954. Visitors can expect a completely new museum concept: a house for hearing, smelling, tasting and feeling. In the three permanent exhibitions, they experience a journey through the salt history of the region and learn interesting facts about the development of inland shipping in the Salzland district and its impact on people and nature. Museum visitors can immerse themselves in the lives of their ancestors in the permanent exhibition on the Pömmelte ring sanctuary. Original archaeological finds can also be admired here.

"A very successful and beautiful exhibition! For such a small place, a museum that is well worth seeing!"
