Discover the charming landscape along the Bode, Saale and Wipper rivers as part of a day trip on the approximately 36-kilometre route between Ilberstedt and Hohenerxleben.
This route covers the central area of the Salzland district and offers charming river landscapes with forests and meadows, as well as farmland plateaus with far-reaching views. No matter where you start your tour, cosy restaurants and inns invite you to take a relaxing break about halfway through.
The route also has a lot to offer culturally and historically. Visit the old town and Bernburg Castle, Bernburg Zoo, Ilberstedt with its local history centre and the "Six Stones" (remains of medieval stone crosses), Hohenerxleben Castle, Neugattersleben Park or the impressive monastery church of St. Mary and St. Cyprian in Nienburg, an important building on the Romanesque Road. The swimming pool in Nienburg, which is located directly on the water, provides a refreshing dip.
