The federal programme "Demokratie leben!" (Live Democracy!) is entering a new phase. What began in 2015–2019 with the subtitle "Active against right-wing extremism, violence and misanthropy" is now starting in 2020–2024 with the focus: "Promoting democracy, shaping diversity, preventing extremism!"
The successor programme aims to promote civic engagement and democratic behaviour at local, regional and supra-regional level.
The aim is to establish a "Partnership for Democracy" with which the following content is to be implemented:
- Cooperation between all local players on site
- Sustainable development of regional alliances
- Create networks
As part of this federal programme, the Salzlandkreis district has been given the opportunity to establish a partnership for democracy from 1 January 2015. Project funds will be made available to the district for the Aschersleben, Staßfurt and Bernburg region for the implementation of the action plan. These funds will be allocated to suitable project sponsors as part of an application process.
