Municipal full-time equal opportunities officer of the Salzland district

My task is to contribute to the implementation of the constitutional equality requirement, to promote equality between women and men in the Salzland district and to reduce existing disadvantages.

I work closely with institutions, clubs and associations. As a contact person for women and girls, I put them in touch with counselling centres in the Salzland district and specialist services in the Salzland district.

I initiate and support projects on gender equality, organise public events and also take part in various campaigns, for example to protect women and girls from violence. I am networked throughout the state and country.

Within the administration, I work closely with the department management, the heads of the departments and other administrative units. The aim is to promote equal opportunities for women and men.

I am the point of contact for all employees with problems relating to equality in the workplace. These can include, for example, discrimination when filling vacancies, problems with balancing work and family life or sexual harassment in the workplace.

To summarise, this means that I:

• advise, support and mediate
  in matters of equality and in cases of family or work-related problems, violence, etc.
• provide information and compile
  brochures, leaflets and presentations,
• Cooperate and network
  in collaboration with institutions, authorities, associations, federations, organisations and advice centres.
• raise awareness
  through educational and public relations work, press reports, information events,
• represent women's and men's
  interests by participating in internal and external decision-making bodies,
• Initiate events and projects
  through educational, informational and awareness-raising events.
• I am the contact
  person for equality issues outside and within the district administration
  .
• develop concepts
  for the systematic advancement of gender equality work.
