Training managers at vocational schools

The programme supports training managers at vocational schools. They act as a link between the vocational school, the pupils, the training companies, responsible bodies and institutions with offers to support the success of the training. The aim of the support is to improve cooperation between learning venues, access to and the organisation of support services for pupils.

The target groups of the training managers are the pupils at vocational schools run by local authorities, in particular at part-time vocational schools and in the vocational preparation year.

Training managers take on additional tasks that are not directly related to school operations. These include the following tasks in particular:

• Survey of pupils' basic support needs,
• Arrangement of suitable support services in consultation with all relevant stakeholders (in particular the school social workers, careers advisors at the employment agency, employees of the youth employment agency and the training counsellors at the relevant agencies),
• Organisation of vocational language courses at vocational schools in cooperation with these schools and with the language course providers, the school authorities and the training companies,
• Coordination of the language courses with the respective training programmes,
• Organisational support for the students (e.g. obtaining time off from the training company),
• Counselling students with German language difficulties to find individual solutions and, if necessary, continuous support for the students, if necessary over the course of a training year and
• Networking between the companies, the vocational schools, the relevant bodies and, where responsible, the employment agency, the job centre or the youth employment agency.

The "Training managers at vocational schools" project will be implemented in the Salzland district for the period from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2028.
