Finding suitable young skilled workers and keeping them in the region - this is a key challenge, especially for small and medium-sized companies in the Salzland district. Early, business-orientated guidance for school pupils is more important today than ever before. It secures young talent for companies and makes it easier for young people to successfully transition from school to vocational training or university - and therefore career prospects in our region.
This is what the Youth and Career Alliance is working on: it wants to enable all young people in the Salzland district to make a successful transition from school to the world of work and avoid or shorten waiting loops in the transition system.
Partners in the alliance are the Salzlandkreis district, the Saxony-Anhalt West Employment Agency, the Salzlandkreis Job Centre and the Saxony-Anhalt State Education Authority.
The aim of the collaboration is to identify bottlenecks in the transition from school to work, develop effective solutions and implement these in a standardised manner. The alliance partners undertake to work together to organise the transition in such a way as to make it easier for young people to move from school to work. A particular focus here is on promoting the vocational and social integration of disadvantaged young people.
To this end, the partners work closely together to create a coordinated regional transition management system. Joint, cross-jurisdictional counselling and well-coordinated placement services are crucial. At its core is a binding strategy that involves all partners and reaches all affected pupils.
Salzlandkreis Youth and Career Coordination Centre
The "Youth and Career Coordination Centre" supports the working alliance in its endeavours and coordinates the large number of funding and support services in the Salzland district, which in turn support young people in their choice of training and studies.
Further Key tasks of the coordination office:
- Contact person for schools, companies and institutions for all questions relating to the transition from school to work and referral to the relevant authorities
- Initiation, support and monitoring of projects and plans to secure skilled labour in the region
- Information about the portfolio of career guidance programmes in the Salzland district
- Coordination and organisation of events and other activities of the "Youth and Career Alliance"
- Maintenance and administration of the Salzlandkreis internship exchange.
