Applying for an extension to a residence permit for the purpose of vocational training at school
Service description
A residence permit for the purpose of vocational training at school is a temporary residence permit. You can apply to have your residence permit extended if your vocational training is due to continue beyond the expiry date of your residence permit.
Apply to the Foreigners’ Registration Office responsible for your place of residence to extend your residence permit no later than eight weeks before it expires.
The same conditions apply to the renewal of a residence permit for the purpose of school-based vocational training as to its initial grant.
If your residence permit is extended, it will once again be valid for a limited period. A residence permit issued for the purpose of school-based vocational training will be extended for the duration of the training.
As a rule, the residence permit cannot be extended if this was already ruled out when the residence permit was issued or last extended.

- If your application is approved, the Immigration Authority will arrange for the eAT card to be issued.
