Applying for a transfer block for the vehicle register
Service description
As a vehicle owner, your personal data and that of your vehicle are stored by the local registration authorities and the Central Vehicle Register (ZFZR) of the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).
In certain cases, other persons, companies or authorities may receive information about your data there.
As the vehicle owner, you can prevent this data from being passed on. To do this, you can apply to your local registration authority to block the transfer of your data.
To do so, you must be able to credibly demonstrate that the disclosure of your data violates your legitimate interests and poses a significant threat to your life, health or personal freedom. This may be the case, for example, if
- Threat
- Insult
- Stalking
Other persons may also be jeopardised by the disclosure of your data.
In individual cases, transmission is possible despite blocking, in particular for the prosecution of criminal offences or if legal claims are to be asserted against you. This is the case, for example, if you have caused an accident. You will be given the opportunity to comment on this before your data is transferred.
