Extending parking permits for severely disabled people
Service description
If you have a blue or orange parking permit as a severely disabled person, you can have it extended.
The parking permit allows you to park in places where this is not normally permitted. Authorised persons can also use the parking concessions if they are a passenger. A driving licence is not required.
The parking permit together with the written exemption authorisation serves as proof.
There are two versions of the parking permit.
Blue parking permit:
- applies throughout Europe
- Authorised to park in car parks with a wheelchair symbol
Orange parking permit:
- applies nationwide
Both parking permits authorise you to park at the following locations:
- in restricted no-parking zones for up to 3 hours; applicants may be authorised a longer parking time for certain no-parking zones. The arrival time must be shown on a parking disc
- under certain conditions in traffic-calmed areas
- in car parks for residents for up to 3 hours
- during loading times in pedestrian zones where loading and unloading is authorised for certain times
- at parking meters and parking ticket machines without charge and time limit
- in the area of a no-parking zone, even outside the authorised parking period
- beyond the authorised time in places where parking time is limited
