Check whether a notification of commencement of use is required for your building.

If it is necessary to display the start of use:

• Compile the necessary information and evidence.
• Submit the notification to the responsible lower building supervisory authority.

Construction not exempt from procedure

• Notification of commencement of use (digital or written)
• For buildings in building class 4: Confirmation that the construction complies with the fire protection certificate. This does not apply to special buildings or medium-sized and large garages.

• Ordinance on building documents and building inspectorate notifications (Bauvorlagenverordnung BauVorlVO)

Personal appearance required: no

• Notification of the intended commencement of use (Section 81 (2) sentence 1 BauO LSA)

If you do not report the commencement of use, do not report it on time or do not provide the required documents, this may be an administrative offence.

In special cases, you will need the certificate for the building authority inspection of technical systems.
