Service description
If you, as the client, wish to use a building that is not exempt from planning permission, you must report this.
Your construction work is not exempt from procedures if it either requires planning permission or is exempt from authorisation.
Procedure
Check whether a notification of commencement of use is required for your building.
If it is necessary to display the start of use:
- Compile the necessary information and evidence.
- Submit the notification to the responsible lower building supervisory authority.

Which documents are required?
- Notification of commencement of use (digital or written)
- For buildings in building class 4: Confirmation that the construction complies with the fire protection certificate. This does not apply to special buildings or medium-sized and large garages.

There are no costs.
What deadlines do I have to observe?
You must submit this licence application at least 2 weeks before use.

If you do not report the commencement of use, do not report it on time or do not provide the required documents, this may be an administrative offence.
In special cases, you will need the certificate for the building authority inspection of technical systems.
