Service description
Before you start a construction project that requires authorisation or does not require authorisation, you must notify the authorities. You can submit this notification of the start of construction in writing or online.
This also applies if you have interrupted construction work for longer than 3 months and would now like to resume it.
If your building project is exempt from procedures, this notification is not necessary.
Procedure
Submit the notification of the start of construction to the building supervisory authority. You can submit the notification of the start of construction online or in writing.
Please note the deadlines.
The lower building supervisory authority will then check whether the requirements for starting your building project are met.
Feedback from the authority is not necessary.
You can start construction work within 3 months of the notified start of construction. If the building inspectorate gives other instructions, you must follow them.

What else should I know?
If you do not submit the notification of the start of construction or do not submit it on time, this may be regarded as an administrative offence and you may have to pay a fine.the permit, building documents and structural engineering certificates must be available on the construction site from the start of construction.
