Service description
As one of Germany’s largest state archives, the Saxony-Anhalt State Archives holds, across five sites, around 50 linear kilometres of documents, official registers, files, drawings, maps and plans, as well as electronic and other data carriers spanning eleven centuries of German history. The records held by the State Central Archives may be consulted for academic purposes, for local history research, to trace one’s own family history, or to clarify legal matters. The archives are open to anyone with a legitimate interest in consulting the records.

What fees are incurred?
There is generally a charge for using the archive. Information on the fees can be obtained from the State Central Archives. The user fee will be waived if you are using the archive for academic purposes or for other purposes that are in the public interest.
