Driving school branch - allow
Service description
If you are the owner of a driving school and operate branches of this driving school, you require a branch licence.
The licence is granted if the classroom, teaching materials and teaching vehicles meet the legal requirements and if the circumstances, in particular the number of branches or their physical distance, ensure that the holder of the driving school licence or the responsible manager of the training company can fulfil their duties. The number of branches should not exceed three, or two per partner in the case of group driving schools.
Who should I contact?
The responsibility lies with the State Administration Office.
Which documents are required?
- Driving licence
- a true-to-scale plan of the classrooms with details of their equipment
- a declaration that the prescribed teaching materials are available
- a list of the number and type of training vehicles
The application can be made in writing and informally.
What fees are incurred?
In accordance with No. 302.4 of the German Road Traffic Fee Regulations (GebOSt), a fee of 84.40 euros is charged for the issue of a branch office permit, including the issue of a permit certificate.
What deadlines do I have to observe?
There are no deadlines to be observed.

What else should I know?
A branch office cannot have a different name from the driving school (main office). Only the abbreviation "Branch office (location of branch office)" is added to the name of the main office.
