Do you already hold a driving licence and would like to add another licence (category)?
In principle, the provisions of the initial licence apply to the extension of a driving licence
Exceptions exist for:
- Extension of category A1 to category A2 and extension of category A2 to category A:
If you have held category A1 or category A2 for two years, you only need to take a practical test (upgrade). - Extension of category B to category BE, category C1 to category C1E, category D to category DE and category D1 to category D1E:
In each case, only one practical test needs to be taken.
- Extension of category A1 to category A2 and extension of category A2 to category A:
Who should I contact?
You can apply for an extension of your driving licence at the driving licence authority in your district or city (main residence).
Prerequisites
You must submit an application for the issue/extension of a driving licence.
Please contact the driving licence authority in the place where you have your main residence.
What fees are incurred?
The fee is based on the scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt).
