Anyone wishing to hunt must pass a hunting test and obtain a hunting licence.
However, the hunting licence alone does not entitle the holder to hunt. In addition to the hunting licence, a private-law permit is required to hunt in a hunting district. This is usually obtained through a hunting lease or a hunting licence.

- Original certificate of successful completion of the hunting examination (for first-time applications)
- Passport photo (only for first-time issue and new issue)
- Proof of the existence of statutory hunting liability insurance
