Bernburg. The next Juleica training course is due to start in November in the Salzlandkreis; this is important for anyone who volunteers in children’s and youth work and wishes to gain a qualification. You can still register.
Between 6 and 21 November, the Youth and Family Service and the District Adult Education Centre are jointly offering nine modular seminars totalling the 35 hours required for the initial issue of the Juleica (Youth Leader Card). With one exception, these will take place in Bernburg at the KVHS, Vor dem Nienburger Tor 13a. One module will be held at a youth centre in Aschersleben.
The seminars cover educational topics, such as communication in situations involving conflict and bullying, project management, and the prevention of extremism and addiction, as well as fundamental topics in the areas of organisation, law, duty of care and insurance. The combination of theory-based content with practical methods and concepts makes the training programme varied and multifaceted for participants.
To successfully complete the course and be issued with a Youth Leader Card, proof of at least 35 hours’ training must be provided; for renewal, 12 hours are required. The Salzlandkreis’s current training programme, delivered by qualified and experienced instructors, is free of charge and enables those interested to either obtain a Juleica for the first time or renew their existing one for voluntary work in child and youth services.
If it is not possible to attend a module, it can be made up in the follow-up training course. The number of participants is limited and the recommended age for participation is 16; in exceptional cases, 15 is also permitted.

You can register for the seminars online via the KVHS Salzlandkreis homepage (under the ‘Society’ section); please do so no later than one week before the start date.
