Intercultural Week gets underway on 26 September with a prayer service at St Johannis Protestant Church. From 2.30 pm, ‘Culinario’ in Eickendorf invites visitors to enjoy international culinary specialities, art and culture, as well as games and sport. The focus is on meeting others and sharing experiences.
Nationwide, Intercultural Week will take place from 27 September to 4 October 2026. In the Salzlandkreis, the programme will run for several weeks. Numerous events in various locations will explore themes such as cultural diversity, intercultural encounters and living together.
Intercultural Week is an initiative of the German Bishops’ Conference, the Evangelical Church in Germany and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis. It has been taking place since 1975 and is supported and organised in collaboration with churches, local authorities, charitable organisations, trade unions, integration advisory boards and officers, migration organisations, religious communities and action groups.
