Pömmelte. Open-air autumn festival at the Ringheiligtum: Visitors of all ages are warmly invited on Sunday 27 September and can look forward to an exciting and entertaining mix of history, culture, music and regional delicacies.
From 11 am, join us for an entertaining journey through time right here on site, back to the Stone Age and Early Bronze Age over 4,000 years ago, with life in times gone by brought to life by the Randau Stone Age village and the ‘Anno 962’ traders’ guild. You can marvel at owls and wolfhounds.
Musically, the traditional sounds of ‘Steineiche’ and ‘Harugaz’ create a special atmosphere, whilst ‘Glinde 7’ brings Irish folk to the mix and adds some lively music.
Today, too, the regional market is running alongside the main event, offering art, culture and culinary specialities from the region. Anyone who fancies it can have a go at pottery, making bath salts or rope-making. There’s also a bouncy castle, duck fishing, ice cream and candyfloss.
The “Am Colphus” restaurant in Barby will be providing refreshments, including hearty grilled dishes, refreshing drinks and homemade cakes.
Three guided tours of the Ring Sanctuary, running every hour, offer interested visitors fascinating insights into the history of this unique place of worship. The first guided tour starts at 12 noon.
