Health promotion and prevention are key foundations for quality of life and well-being. These issues are becoming increasingly important, especially against the backdrop of an ageing population and growing social challenges.
The Salzland district and the Saxony-Anhalt Coordination Office for Equal Health Opportunities (KGC), funded by the GKV Alliance for Health, the Saxony-Anhalt State Association for Health, are therefore inviting you to the specialist conference "DaSein - Healthy Living in the Salzland District" on 4 March 2026. The event will take place from 9 am to 4 pm at the Bernstein Acamed Resort in the Neugattersleben district of Nienburg.
The specialist conference is aimed at specialists, municipal stakeholders and interested parties who are involved in health promotion, prevention and social services of general interest in the Salzland district. The aim of the event is to strengthen professional exchange, further develop regional cooperation and publicise successful approaches.
District Administrator Markus Bauer emphasises: "Health is an important asset that affects all people and all areas of life. Our health department plays a key role in the public health service and wants to use this specialist conference with stakeholders from administration, healthcare, education and social work in the Salzland district to develop joint solutions for the tasks ahead. Because if we network and learn from each other, we can sustainably strengthen the health opportunities for citizens in the region. In line with our Salzlandkreis 2030 strategy for the future."
The conference will present current regional health and social data, showcase models of good practice and discuss key public health challenges. In thematic forums, experts will shed light on the practical aspects of early intervention, intergenerational prevention options and climate and health.

Background
The Prevention Act, which came into force on 25 July 2015, places particular emphasis on prevention and health promotion in settings. Statutory health insurance funds and their co-operation partners are to actively approach people in certain life situations with prevention and health promotion measures to an even greater extent than before. A core objective is to minimise the effects of social disadvantage on health. The task of the Saxony-Anhalt Equal Health Opportunities Coordination Centre is to support and accompany local actors in the implementation of measures. Existing structures and initiatives focussing on quality development are to be networked, thus creating opportunities for a regular exchange of experience.
