Bernburg. Whether it was public finance law and cost-benefit analysis or gaining initial experience in various specialist departments of the Salzlandkreis – Leonie-Chantal Beau and Jana Malick have completed three intensive years of training, combining theory and practice, to become administrative assistants. They passed with flying colours, however. That is why, at the end of July, they received their graduation certificates during a small ceremony at the District Administrator’s office in Bernburg. And, at the same time, their new employment contracts. For, just like the two newly qualified IT specialists Johannes Maximus Gritz and Jan Hartmann following their three-year training with the Salzlandkreis, they see their professional future as part of the district administration.
"They have all successfully completed a challenging training programme. They are now ready to start their careers with us," said Thomas Michling, Chief Administrative Director of the district administration, on behalf of District Administrator Markus Bauer. "Congratulations on this achievement and, once again, welcome to the team!" The District Administrator also thanked the trainees for their commitment. "You can now start at one of the best employers in the region." The District Administrator emphasised the importance and the responsibility for society associated with the tasks: "With our daily work, we ensure the provision of basic needs in many areas and together we want to develop the region into an even more attractive residential, business and scientific location. This requires committed people and new perspectives."
Among the well-wishers were Manuela Jansen, head of training, and Mathias Kiegeland, head of the specialist service responsible for personnel, training, organisation and commissioners. In this context, Mathias Kiegeland explained that the new colleagues will not only have to work properly in the future, but also develop structures and processes within the department or specialised service. At the same time, he pointed out the various development opportunities within the district administration. "We offer very good framework conditions in many respects." While Johannes Maximus Gritz and Jan Hartmann will be working in the Information and Communication Technology department, Leonie-Chantal Beau and Jana Malick will be reinforcing the Specialist Services for Order and Road Traffic and Social Affairs. They in turn thanked training manager Manuela Jansen for her support during the three-year training period.
The Salzland district regularly trains administrative assistants and IT specialists and takes them on if they perform well. At the start of the new training year, seven trainees will begin their training in the district administration and four students will begin their dual study programme in public administration and administrative digitisation and informatics. This means that a total of 19 trainees and five students will be completing their training at the district administration. Incidentally, after graduation is before the new intake. The application phase for training as an administrative assistant, IT specialist and for the dual study programmes starting in September 2026 begins at the start of September. More information can be found on the Salzland district website.
