
The district archive of the Salzlandkreis is an institution that deals administratively with the holdings and history of the district. It has the task of collecting, archiving and researching historically significant documents and records and making them accessible to the public. The archive material is protected from damage and loss and its integrity and authenticity are preserved.
Geographically, the district archive is responsible for the written records of the Salzland district and the former districts of Aschersleben, Bernburg, Schönebeck, Staßfurt and Aschersleben-Staßfurt. It houses archive material and documents that are no longer permanently required from the district administrations, subordinate institutions and a number of historically interesting companies and individuals.
