- The German Administrative Practice (DVP) collection of laws, including supplements, is provided free of charge by the training authority.

Training content
I. Introductory course
To make it easier for you and your new colleagues to start your training, you will be familiarised with the administrative processes during the introductory weeks.
- You will be made fit to carry out your first practical activities.
- You will also get to know your fellow trainees from other years better through joint activities.
- You will receive your deployment plan and then start your practical training in the various specialised services.
During practical training in the specialist services, you will deal with, for example
- processing applications, e.g. assistance with living expenses, integration assistance for disabled people, housing benefit;
- prepare decisions applying the relevant legal provisions, e.g. issuing licences for the acquisition, possession and use of firearms, issuing and renewing fishing licences, issuing or withdrawing driving licences, registering and deregistering motor vehicles;
- will advise people seeking help and also be a competent contact for organisations and companies,
but also with tasks in the internal area such as
- Prepare meetings for the district committee and district council, among others, and contribute to the implementation of resolutions,
- Procure and manage materials,
- participate in the preparation and implementation of the budget,
- Maintaining personnel files, calculating salaries, processing recruitment processes, personnel deployment planning, personnel development
and much more.
As you can see, even at first glance, the profession is far more varied than one might expect. Administrative assistants can be employed in almost all areas of administration, both during their training and after successfully completing their studies.II. vocational school = theoretical part
The theoretical training is currently being provided in the form of block teaching (two blocks of six weeks per training year) at the Eike von Repgow vocational school in Magdeburg.
In addition to German and social studies, the subjects taught will include law-related topics such as constitutional, administrative, municipal, labour and collective bargaining law, as well as accounting. The main task will be to learn how to deal with the laws step by step and, over time, to solve increasingly complex issues independently.
The practical training and on-the-job training at the training authority are designed to help you deepen and apply the knowledge and skills you have acquired at vocational school. At
the same time, this is supported in the form of courses at the Studieninstitut für kommunale Verwaltung des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. (Study Institute for Local Government of Saxony-Anhalt) in Magdeburg, specifically for exam preparation.
In the second year of training: 6-week intermediate course | Preparation for the intermediate
examination In the third year of training: 12-week final course | Preparation for the final
examination Once you have successfully completed these, you will finally hold your final certificate in your hands. During practical training in the specialist department, you will learn how to design and implement complex information technology systems by integrating hardware and software components.
You will learn how to implement, integrate and test IT security measures in accordance with legal requirements.
You will plan and configure IT systems and supervise and manage them. This also includes solving application and system problems and the associated safe handling of expert and diagnostic systems. You will
also be at the forefront when it comes to users. You will help to install new systems and train users so that they can work with them independently, and you will be available at all times to help with system problems.
You will have a varied working day and numerous areas of responsibility.
When IT is not running as it should, you will be called upon, with user needs always at the forefront.Vocational school = theoretical part
At vocational school, you will have two weeks of lessons approximately every four weeks. Currently, theoretical training is carried out at the Gutjahr vocational school in Halle. In addition to German, social
studies and sports, the subjects taught will include subject-related areas such as programming, IT systems, databases and network technology. Here you will learn all the theoretical skills, knowledge and abilities you need.
The practical training and on-the-job training at the training authority will help you to deepen and apply the knowledge and skills you have acquired at vocational school.
The final examination consists of parts 1 and 2. Part 1 takes place in the second half of the second training year and part 2 at the end of the third training year.
Once you have successfully completed these, you will finally hold your final certificate in your hands. You are now an IT specialist in the field of system integration and, depending on your performance during your training, you can sign an employment contract and start your professional career in the Salzlandkreis district!Application modalities
