Bernburg. The Salzlandkreis district will once again demand that clinic operator Ameos pay the outstanding purchase price instalment from the sale of the Salzland clinics in 2011. District Administrator Markus Bauer informed the district council of this in a special meeting on Wednesday evening. "Our claims for the second purchase price instalment plus interest have been confirmed in all instances before the courts. On this basis, we will once again request Ameos to pay the full amount to the Salzlandkreis district." The District Administrator had convened the special meeting in order to inform all district council members transparently about the current status.
Following the sale of the Salzland clinics, the Salzland district is still entitled to a second instalment of 3.8 million euros plus interest, totalling around 6.2 million euros, in accordance with the purchase agreement concluded in 2012. The amount of interest on arrears increases with each passing day. Following a decision by the Federal Court of Justice, the Salzland district now has an enforceable title.
District Administrator Markus Bauer emphasises the importance of sustainable inpatient healthcare in the Salzland district. "We have always been in favour of improving the framework conditions in this area of public services." Among other things, he refers to his political initiative, after which the state government issued an ordinance to ensure nationwide hospital care. Nevertheless, the district administration is obliged to collect the outstanding instalment from the finally determined purchase price in full due to the local legal framework.
District Administrator Markus Bauer says that Ameos will continue to be available as a reliable partner. However, the prerequisite is that the hospital group is committed to the Salzland district and fulfils the contractually agreed obligations in full.
