Minister-President Sven Schulze today inaugurated a new plant engineering centre in Schönebeck together with the CEO of the Irish plant engineering company Eoin Vaughan. "Investments such as Mercury's show that our federal state is becoming increasingly important as a location for modern production and industrial value creation. With an efficient infrastructure, competitive framework conditions and qualified skilled labour, we offer companies reliable prospects for growth. I am convinced that Saxony-Anhalt will continue to be increasingly recognised by companies looking for a location in the future and will be able to further expand its position in international competition," explained the Minister President.

Mercury has invested around €25 million in Schönebeck. In future, modular assemblies will be manufactured here, including carbon and stainless steel pipework systems, sprinkler systems and infrastructure for high-purity processes. The company is a leading provider of complex construction and engineering solutions in Europe.
