Pömmelte. The annual Candlemas celebration at the beginning of February is all about light and new beginnings. It marks the end of the deep winter. To mark the occasion, the Salzlandkreis district is hosting two special tours of the Pömmelte ring sanctuary on 1 February. Illuminated lanterns create a cosy atmosphere on the grounds. After the tours, visitors can enjoy the sunset and the grounds at their leisure. The Salzlandmuseum Association will be on hand to provide warm drinks and delicious snacks.
The tours start at 4 p.m. and 4.15 p.m., with a maximum of 30 participants per tour. Binding registration is required to participate: please register by 29 January at fuehrungen@kreis-slk.de. The participation fee (€7 per person) is to be paid on the day of the event at the Tourist Information Centre (TIZ).
