Aschersleben. A new, colourful collection of images on the walls of the district adult education centre in Aschersleben follows on from the previous black-and-white photographs of the Seeland region. From Monday, 9 February, members of the Aschersleben studio community Schöpfrad will be showing how they translate their view of things artistically in a new exhibition.
In their work over more than 30 years of the association's history, the members have repeatedly devoted themselves to topical and interesting themes. The choice of artistic media used is as varied and colourful as the butterflies in the pictures. In particular, the possibilities of graphics, watercolour and acrylic painting, but also collage techniques are used. Collage as a work of art began its triumphal march at the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, the technique has continued to develop. Whether as a collage of natural materials, photographs or text and images, for example, or today as a mixed-media collage, it is impossible to imagine the various art genres without this artistic means of expression and design. The wheel of creation works presented in the exhibition show the variety of ways in which collage materials can be combined and text elements integrated to create a message, a title or even a story.
The exhibition of the AG Schöpfrad in the KVHS in Aschersleben, Augustapromenade 44, can be visited from 9 February during office hours. The educational institution and the members of the association invite all interested parties to come together, light and buoyant as the butterflies, into spring.
