Bernburg. The 16 pupils from the Béla Bartók District Music School returned from this year's regional Jugend musiziert competition with beaming faces. At the end of January, they demonstrated their skills in various solo and ensemble categories in Bernburg, Haldensleben and Magdeburg, impressing the expert jury with their high artistic level, musical expressiveness and great enthusiasm.
Seven of them will be travelling to Magdeburg, the state capital, in just a few weeks' time to compete for the Salzland district in the state competition for young musicians. The final round will be held from 20 to 23 March.
"We are very proud of these achievements," says Sandra Preuß, head of the district music school in Salzlandkreis, looking back briefly. And then straight forward. "There were numerous first and second prizes for our participants thanks to the intensive preparation. Congratulations and a big thank you to our dedicated teachers. Now all our concentration is once again on the final. Fingers crossed for our wind quartet "Pfeif drauf" with Anna, Angelina, Lina Sophie and Hannah at the Bernburg location and for the three piano soloists in the competition, Katharina, Elias and Melissa, who are being trained at the locations in Staßfurt and Schönebeck.
