Bernburg/SLK. Career guidance without clichés, for boys and girls. This year's nationwide Girls' and Boys' Day will take place on 23 April. The district administration supports this special initiative in its search for the skilled workers of tomorrow.
"The young people should be free to choose from what is possible locally. They receive important suggestions and experience, of course also here in the Salzland district," says District Administrator Markus Bauer, drawing attention to the date and the opportunity to apply. He is campaigning for broad participation in the day of action, from both sides. "The district administration itself is also preparing an attractive programme for interested boys and girls from year seven upwards. Our first-year apprentices will guide them through the Future Day from nine o'clock onwards."
On this day, his office will be providing lots of information about the Salzlandkreis district, the processes within the administration and the range of apprenticeships on offer, from administrative assistants and IT specialists to dual study programmes. On Future Day, girls and boys from the region can learn about individual specialised services and their areas of responsibility, put their knowledge to the test in a quiz and win something.
Interested boys and girls can register for a day at the district administration office in Bernburg on 23 April (Future Day 2026) by email:
or by post:
Just like the Salzland district, a number of companies and institutions will once again be welcoming and informing young people about possible career paths on 23 April. In Saxony-Anhalt, pupils from year 5 onwards can take part. Nine out of ten who have already taken part enjoyed the Future Day. Two-thirds of all participants learnt about a career that sparked their interest and more than a third are interested in doing an internship, training or studying in their chosen field.
All information about this year's Future Day for boys and girls and the contact persons in the district administration – for companies and school pupils – can be found on the Salzlandkreis homepage, under Career/Training.
