Salzlandkreis job centre arranges energy advice
As part of the provision of basic income support, the Salzlandkreis Jobcentre – as the body responsible for providing basic income support to jobseekers under SGB II – provides, amongst other things, financial assistance towards the costs of accommodation and heating. These expenses are only recognised at their actual amount insofar as they are reasonable. In many cases, unreasonable costs for accommodation and heating are due to excessive energy consumption. For affected clients, this often results in an uncovered financial burden, with the risk of excessive debt and electricity disconnections. It is therefore in the Jobcentre’s interest to positively influence its clients’ consumption behaviour with a view to saving energy.
